Our rental crampons and ice axes are available all year. Llama Rentals
The Great Outdoor Shop can also book pack llamas, which are a unique way to experience the backcountry and explore the Winds. Llamas are gentle and enduring by nature, making them wonderful trekking companions for extended hiking trips, families with young children and old knees! No animal experience is necessary prior to booking, however we provide a thorough llama orientation which will familiarise you with the proper saddling, packing and handling techniques. Be advised that there is a 5-day minimum, llamas average a maximum of 10 miles per day and are not permitted in certain areas of the Winds, including Titcomb Basin and the Cirque of the Towers.
For more information or to make a llama reservation, please call our shop at (307) 367-2440.
