The Green River
848 CFS at Warren Bridge Gauging Station
The water has dropped and is running clear for the most part in the upper reaches of the Green. Fly pattern suggestions include big stonefly nymphs trailed by San Juan worms or an egg pattern. Sporadic blue wings olive hatches can be found in the early mornings.
The New Fork River
1190 CFS at Gauging Station near Big Piney
Similar to the Green River, the water has dropped slightly, but as air temperatures rise so will the water. Fly pattern suggestions include big stonefly nymphs trailed by a San Juan worm.
General Information
As the weather begins to warm, some caddis should start to show. If nymphing isn’t your preferred fishing method you can start with small streamers to test the waters. Please note on all rivers that the Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout are still on the spawn and should be disturbed as minimally as possible.
