The Green River

949 CFS at Warren Bridge Gauging Station

The Green River is running clear above the Forest Boundary and still fishing well. We are starting to see caddis and small black stoneflies and a bit more surface activity. The Green River closer to Pinedale is getting dirty, mostly due to the recent daily rainfalls. In the lower stretches, go for streamers or fish a San Juan Worm below a bobber. Fly pattern suggestions include Elk Hair Caddis size 14-18, Pink San Juan Worms, Black Stonefly size 14-16, Copper Johns, and Black Wooly Buggers.

The New Fork River

1230 CFS at Gauging Station near Big Piney

The New Fork is dirty with little to no visibility. Folks have been floating, and have brought in a few fish, but it requires all-day effort with the muddy conditions. Fly pattern suggestions include big, dark colored streamers; the mucky conditions make visibility for the fish difficult.
