Fishing Report 7/6/2022

with No Comments

Fishing is still getting better by the day! We are constantly hearing strong reports of large salmon flies, golden stones and drakes. The Green and New Fork have both stabilized and cleared up, and more fish are feeding on the surface every day. It’s officially summertime fishing out there!

Green River: 1270 CFS @ Warren Bridge
The Green is still producing big fish but lacking the numbers we are currently seeing on the New Fork. A deep-set dropper rig below some big foam will probably be your best bet. There are more drakes on the Green than in most areas, so mayfly nymphs or dries are doing well.
Flies to try: Dancin’ Ricky, Purple Haze, Guide’s Choice Hare’s Ear

New Fork: 1280 CFS @ Big Piney
Most of the dry fly action seems to be happening on the New Fork right now, with droves of larger stone flies around. Solid numbers and some good-sized fish are coming off most days, and it’s only going to get better.
Flies to try: Chubby Chernobyl, Blingnobyl Ant, PMX

Seedskadee: 2040 CFS @ Fontenelle Dam
The water keeps going up little by little down there, and likely wade fishing is still difficult. If you can, get in a boat and bang the banks with heavy nymph rigs and big foam in search of that huge rainbow or brown.
Flies to try: Hot Spot Pheasant Tail, Circus Peanut, San Juan Worm
